The Big Ten Football Championship Game is held the week following the Big Ten Conference regular season in Indianapolis, Indiana at Lucas Oil Stadium, home to the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts and a neutral site for a number of postseason events across sports. The game pits the winner of the East and West Divisions. The Ohio State Buckeyes have won five of the last seven Big Ten Championship games, beating the Wisconsin Badgers three times and Northwestern Wildcats twice. The winner of the Big Ten Championship is awarded the Amos Alonzo Stagg Trophy.
Indianapolis, which is home to the NCAA’s headquarters, features an underground tunnel leading from several of the area’s hotels into Lucas Oil Stadium. Along this underground path are several convention-style rooms in which the Big Ten holds various events for each fanbase. Big Ten fans can descend on St. Elmo’s Steak House and indulge in the restaurant's famous shrimp cocktail or take in a Butler basketball game at the famous Hinkle Fieldhouse.
